In many existing building cases, it is necessary to incorporate new lifts, staircases, disabled access modifications plus general alterations. Extensive experience is available of designing upward and downward extensions along with sizeable horizontal extensions to traditional (including listed) buildings, modern masonry buildings and frame buildings.
Future GP consortia will replace primary care trusts and surgery building needs are likely to change in line with this.
